‘Wilstock & Stockmoor News’ would like you to design and create a newsletter!

(To print the document: print on an A4 piece of paper, duplex (double sided) flipped on the short edge… or just press print and hope for the best).

Some suggestions of content you may like to include are:

  • Local events.
  • Local news.
  • Pretend adverts.
  • What do you love about where you live?
  • What you like about living in Wilstock, Stockmoor, North Petherton?
  • What birds you’ve seen on the Wilstock & Stockmoor Country Park’s lake?
  • *Self portrait.
  • Drawings of wildlife or flowers you’ve seen.
  • Drawing of the country park or other area in or around Wilstock or Stockmoor that you like.
  • What you’re looking forward to do at school when you return?
  • What you want to do when you’re older?
  • Things you’ve done that you are proud of.
  • *Introduce yourself. Write your (first) name vertically down the page and add a descriptive work for each letter.
  • What is the nicest thing you’ve done for someone?
  • What is the nicest thing someone has done for you?
  • Jokes (not rude!).
  • Games: quiz, word-search, crossword or other game you’ve invented!
  • Cartoons.
  • Complete the brag:
    • I am incredible talented at __________.
    • I am also very good at __________.
    • I’ve gotten so much better at __________.
    • People enjoy being around me because I’m so __________.
    • I am an expert on __________.
    • Lots of people admire how __________ I am.

Competition Terms and Conditions

This competition is being run in conjunction with our friends over at https://www.wallacestuart.co.uk/ who are kindly donating prizes for the different children’s age categories. Wallace Stuart will also be displaying entries in their shop window.

  • To have your newsletter featured on our website and be entered in the competition, submit your entry to hello@ws-news.co.uk by the end of September 2020. The winners will be announced in October 2020. You can submit the newsletter as a scanned document in PDF or image format, or you can photograph the newsletter and submit it as image file(s).
  • This competition is for children of any age.
  • There will be a prize for each children’s age group category.
    • Preschool
    • KS1
    • KS2
    • KS3
    • KS4
  • This competition is open to residents of North Petherton, Wilstock, Stockmoor & North Newton.
  • Prizes are supplied by Wallace Stuart
  • ‘Wilstock & Stockmoor News’ will judge the entries in conjunction with Wallace Stuart. The Judge’s decision is final.
  • There is no cost to enter this competition.
  • Adults are welcome to submit their own entries but will not be eligible to win or get a prize. (Sorry!)
